SETIU: Another three juvenile river terrapins were released into Sungai Setiu yesterday under the state’s first river terrapin tracking project.

The three are the second batch to be released after a trial run involving a three-year-old terrapin released near Pak Lah Teh early last month.

The tracking project, by the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu turtle and rehabilitation group, aims to evaluate UMT’s Head Start Project and to fine-tune it.

The terrapins are monitored with an ultrasonic tracking device sponsored by Aquaria KLCC.
